Lunch Meeting at Continental Flambe in Melbourne, - Saturday, 10 January 2004

Approximately 20 ladies joined us for lunch at Continental Flambe in Downtown Melbourne.  We had two potential alum initiates also join us.

Carla Lema-Tome, Anne-Marie Johnston, and Jess Henderson attended their first Space Coast Alumnae Chapter meeting.  The ladies enjoyed the casual lunch setting and were eager to learn more about the chapter.

River Rendezvous - A Panhellenic Fundraiser - Saturday, 07 February 2004

Seven Gamma Phis attended the River Rendezvous, a Melbourne Panhellenic fundraiser to raise money for scholarships: Michele Everett, Judy Davis, Mary Crouch, Chiara Benitez, Anne-Marie Johnston, Jess Henderson, and Coleen Taylor.

Lunch Meeting at Coral Bay in Melbourne - Saturday, 13 March 2004

Programming Vice-President Janis Dey runs the Space Coast Alumnae Chapter meeting after a nice lunch on the river at Coral Bay.

Jennifer Stutts brought her daughter, Stacey, who will be a freshman at FSU this fall.  Perhaps she will look into Gamma Phi?

Also new to the group was alum Julie Arnold. Welcome Julie!

Lunch Meeting at Yellow Dog in Palm Bay - Saturday, 15 May 2004

The Yellow Dog Cafe is one of our favorite places to go for lunch.  The food was excellent, as was the service.  The ladies enjoyed their lunch in a private room overlooking the river.

2004 Convention in Chicago - 23-27 June 2004

Dr. Jonathan Clark, husband of the late Columbia astronaut and Gamma Phi Beta, Laurel Blair Salton Clark, spoke to the sorority about his wife.  He showed a slide presenation of some personal pictures and displayed some of her astronaut belongings.  After his presentation, Dr. Clark presented the sorority with Laurel's Gamma Phi Beta badge and certificate.  These items will be placed in the sorority's museum, located at International Headquarters.

The theme of this Conventioneer's Dinner was baseball, Chicago style!  Coleen Taylor, along with the Delta Sigma collegians Jen Harley, Dawn Wasik, and Amy Cadman, show of their creative hats and lettered shirts.

Lunch Meeting at Cara Mia in Cocoa Village - Saturday, 28 August 2004

Ten sisters came out for lunch after Hurricane Charley hit Florida a week earlier.  In attendance were Allison Swint, Chiara Benitez, Marry Jane Storrs, Joy Viskochil, Ginny DeRose, Elma Reaves, Peggy Jewell, Janis Dey, Jennifer Stutts, and Coleen Taylor.

Elma Reaves is happy to spend some time with the sisters of the Space Coast Alumnae Chapter after a stressful week of Hurricane Charley.

Founders Day at Island Pasta Company in Downtown Melbourne - Sunday, 14 November 2004

The Space Coast Alumnae Chapter celebrated Founders Day with the Delta Sigma chapter at the Island Pasta Comapny for a brunch.  Alumnae attendees included: Rosemarie Somma, Natalie Wilbanks, Cheryl Nichols, Maura Boswell, Susan Hutchison, Julie Arnold, Cheryl Watson, Kathie Murr, Jenny Inglish, Marjorie Crosswell, Judy Davis, Ginny DeRose, Janet Hutton, Mary Crouch, Janis Dey, Judy Bross, Elma Reaves, Peggy Jewell, Julie Garrison, Coleen Taylor, Chiara Benitez, amd Elizabeth Wales.

Prior to the Founders Day Ceremony, the Golden Crescent Ceremony was held for Marjorie Crosswell.  President Coleen Taylor leads the ceremony as Programming Vice President Janis Dey pins the 50 year pin onto Marjorie.  Marjorie then receives her certificate and congratulatory letter from International.  Marjorie was initiated into the Beta Mu chapter of Gamma Phi Beta at Florida State University on 20 February 1954.

Chiara Benitez and Coleen Taylor have been friends since they met in college in 1991.  Their sisterhood remains strong after all these years and they enjoy the events held by the Space Coast Alumnae Chapter.

The Space Coast alumnae enjoy their conversations with one another while waiting for lunch to be served at the Island Pasta Company in Downtown Melbourne.  This was a last minute location change due to the hurricane damage the Melbourne Beach Hilton sustained during Hurricanes Frances and Jeanne.
